Solar Alert

There is a large sun spot turning toward earth, that in the last hour ejected a X3 solar flare.  There is potential for much larger flares which could disrupt our power grids and damage electrical equipment.

These flares cause major coronal mass ejections (CME) to travel directly toward Earth. The Carrington Event in 1859 took only 17.6 hours to reach earth.  Such a journey normally takes three to four days.

More details at Space Weather and Google Charrington Event.

I will post updates as they come available
