Senator Boxer Beclown’s Herself on Climate Change

The term beclown means to cause something or someone to appear ridiculous.

The Sac Bee has the background HERE:

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and more than 40 of her colleagues Wednesday urged a crowd of environmental activists to push lawmakers to address the threat of climate change. Boxer was flanked by other leading California Democrats, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco and Rep. Henry Waxman of Los Angeles during the 75-minute event at the Dirksen Senate office building in Washington. Boxer identified the worsening droughts and fires in California and storms and floods in other parts of the country as evidence of a crisis. “Climate change is happening all around us and we need to take action now,” she said. “The first thing we need to do is stop the denial.”

California Legislators and Administration used the UN IPCC Climate Assessment reports to justify the passage of AB-32 The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. Now the UN IPCC reports:

According to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC,) there is “high agreement” among leading experts that long-term trends in weather disasters are not attributable to our use of fossil fuels.

Ooops, the UN IPCC reports that the weather we are having now in California is not caused by the burning of fossils fuels. Yet, Senator Boxer wants to reduce the use of fossil fuels to stop global change. Change that has not been evident for the last 17 years.

Boxer repeated her call for a tax on carbon emissions. Virtually all climate scientists agree that carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels is contributing to the warming of the planet.

This is pure rhetorical nonsense born of a cynical attempt to exploit the stupidity of the low information voters. All scientist do not agree, and Senator Boxer has no evidence that this is true.

Our climate is constantly changing for perfectly natural reasons that have nothing to do with carbon dioxide. The Earth’s vast oceans and atmosphere are never in complete equilibrium, thus the weather and climate is always changing. As authors of The West With Out Water pointed out California’s climate has changed on time scales from months to years to decades to centuries and beyond.

With a the sun varying cyclically as our heat source, the planet has warmed and cooled without the interference or the collusion of humans for millions of years and will continue to do so regardless of the carbon taxes Senators Boxers and her cohort of warmers want to impose on the citizens of California.

Failing to recognize the history of climate change over the centuries just beclowns our dippy Senator from California. We deserve better leadership, but then again we get what we voted for.

I don’t think it’s as much beclown as beholden. The left coast liberals are beholden to the money dangled in front of them from rich hedge fund billionaires like Tom Steyer. Unionized employees, particularly those working for the government, can buy a seat at the table with the democrats as well. Working class citizens in private industry jobs without union purchasing power in Congress are completely invisible to the current Democratic party. If you don’t make campaign contributions, you don’t count.

    • Sean, the LA Times didn’t endorse Boxer in her last primary contest because she isn’t very bright, though they said it more nicely: “On the Democratic side, we find that we’re no fans of incumbent Barbara Boxer… She displays less intellectual firepower or leadership than she could.”

However, she fights effectively… kind of like an enraged Chimpanzee intent on destroying someone who doesn’t look right.
