Next Generation of Common Core Science Standards?

Chris Bishop attended the Next Generation of Common Core Science Standards Seminar at the Nevada County Schools Office and writes this on the Purple Man’s blog:

Why I was there was, I was taking a two day seminar on the Next Generation Science Standards. Put on, by none other, than our new Common Core director. It was attended by high school science teachers from Nevada Union, Bear River, Ghidotti, Bitney, and Earle Jamison.

I would be very interested in reading the materials used in the two day seminar referenced above.  I am going to ask the Schools Office for a copy of the presentations used in the Next Generation Science Standards. We will see what is new in these Next Common Core Standards. Reading through the Common Core reading lists there was an emphasis on anthropogenic global warming. This is junk science. Stay Tuned.

Did you know that the Nevada County Schools Office now has a Common Core Director? Who is paying for this position?

Who do you think is paying for it – I’ll give you three guesses. They have posted their budget (sort of) on line on their website – have a look.
